Vision for this Blog

I have been coaching youth and high school baseball for a couple of years now. I have become more and more saddened by the lack of dads wanting to help coach youth baseball. I was talking with the Director of the Metro League within the Cy-Fair Sports Association in Houston, Texas. He told me that every year he has to beg dads and moms to help coach. He has even told them that if no one steps up to coach the team then the team will have to be disbanded. I thought that was horrible to hear so I told him I would do some coaching clinics to give the dads some insight into running a team (practices, games, organization, etc).

That is what gave me the idea for this blog...

I will be posting all kinds of great information about coaching youth baseball that has worked for me. Like they say, "there are a million ways to skin a cat"... there are also a million ways to hit a baseball, throw a baseball, etc. I am going to share with you my ideas, but I'm not saying they are the best or the only ones to use.

I will, from time to time, have guest writers who will give some great insight into special areas of the game (catching, base running, etc.). There will also be videos of some of the drills used in group practice as well as one-on-one training lessons.

I would like to answer any questions you have. Please leave a comment in the comment section of each blog or feel free to email me a question and I will help you the best I can.

Hit 'em were they ain't,
Coach V
